Can academy users self-enroll in courses?

Yes, users can self-enroll in courses that are displayed on their course catalogue.
The setting which determines this is the ‘Show on Catalogue’ option when creating a course. If you turn this on, users will be able to access the course from the catalogue and enroll themselves onto it.
If you don’t want this behaviour, you can turn the setting off in the Course Properties and only users enrolled onto the course by an Administrator would be able to access it.
