Hi, I believe you are asking about Ideagen Ion which is a different product.

Your plan is the right one, and it keeps your quarterly history.

Recommended steps

1. Open the PI and go to Edit Settings, then the collection settings.
2. Add a Half-yearly collection and set it up the way you want it, for example with Manual Entry as the source and your target settings.
3. If Quarterly is currently the PI’s gauge source (the frequency that drives the PI’s status and gauge), change the gauge source to Half-yearly. The system won’t let you remove or retire the collection that is acting as the gauge source.
4. Set the Quarterly collection’s source to “Not Collected” and save.
5. Check your other collections. If any of them is calculated from the quarterly figures, for example an Annual value summed or averaged from quarters, change it to calculate from Half-yearly instead.

What happens to your quarterly data

Setting Quarterly to “Not Collected” switches the collection off but keeps it on the PI. All your historical quarterly values, targets and notes stay where they are. You can still see them on the PI’s Data tab by ticking Quarterly in the frequency filter. No new quarterly data can be entered, and you may see the collection described as “archived”. That is expected and doesn’t mean anything has been deleted. If you ever need to start collecting quarterly again, you can switch its source back to Manual Entry.

Why we don’t recommend “Remove Collection”

Removing the collection deletes it from the PI entirely. Your quarterly history would then no longer be available from the Data tab. If the PI uses numerators and denominators, the quarterly numerator and denominator values are also permanently deleted. If your aim is to keep the history, “Not Collected” is the safe option.
