We’re excited to share the latest updates to Ideagen Safe Food. This month’s releases bring in-app document previews, new fields across Complaints, Nonconformance, Auditing and Training, and a range of usability and platform improvements.

⭐ Document Preview for Attachments & Checklists

Why this matters: Reviewing a file shouldn’t mean downloading it first. You can now preview attached documents without leaving Ideagen Safe Food.

What’s new:

• Clicking an attached file on a record now opens an in-app document viewer instead of downloading the file
• Preview supports .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .txt, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt and .pptx files
• Available on records with Actions > Add Attachment across all modules

⭐ Complaints Module Enhancements

Why this matters: Capturing complete detail on a complaint from the start means less reliance on workarounds and a clearer record for your team.

What’s new:

• New optional fields added to the Complaint record: Country of Origin (auto-populates from the chosen company’s master data), Site, Unit of Measure, Category (up to 5), Notes, Order Number, and Initial and Final Response Dates. The quantity and product/material/service fields have also been widened to display longer entries
• Mandatory fields (Company, Product/Material/Service and Nonconformance) now show a red asterisk next to the label

⭐ Nonconformance Enhancements

Why this matters: Knowing where a nonconformance happened, how it’s categorised and when it should be closed helps you manage it with confidence.

What’s new:

• New optional fields added to Material, Service and Product Nonconformance records: Site, Category (up to 5) and Due Date, the target closure date for the nonconformance
• Product/Material and quantity fields widened on Material and Product Nonconformance records so longer names and larger quantities display without clipping
• The changes are available in Nonconformance product, material and service

⭐ Auditing Category Field

Why this matters: Categorising audits makes it easier to find and filter the programmes and records relevant to your job.

What’s new:

• New optional Category field on Audit Programmes (Internal, Site and Site Self-Assessment) and their Audit Records
• Records inherit the Category from the Programme, whether generated manually or by the scheduler, and it can be changed on the record independently

⭐ Training: Language Trained In

Why this matters: Recording the language a training was delivered in gives you a more complete training history.

What’s new:

• New optional “Language trained in” field on the Training Programme.
• Training Records created from a programme are pre-populated with the programme’s value, which can be edited on the record

⭐ Usability Improvements

Why this matters: Small changes that make everyday tasks quicker.

What’s improved:

• Documents grid — the Action column now sits between Document and Responsible, so it’s easier to find and use
• Monitoring records — a tooltip on the Trace field now reads “Trace / Batch / Lot No.” (the field is available when selected in the programme)

⭐ Behind the Scenes — Platform Reliability

Why this matters: Keeping the platform on supported, secure technology helps ensure it stays reliable and compliant.

What’s improved:

• Core platform services upgraded to .NET 10, keeping Ideagen Safe Food on a supported runtime

⭐ Bug Fixes & Quality Improvements

We’ve resolved a number of customer-reported issues this release, including fixes for:

• Supplier Audit Scheduler — the scheduler now populates records when set to today, rather than waiting until the following morning
• Performance Review — Action Notice and Review Frequency are now disabled when the Next Repeat Interval is set to Weekday
• Complaints — Complaint records can now be created when the site language is set to French (France)
