Question
Late training/test email to managers
+1Hello,
I have been trying for a while to find a way to create an automated email or a periodic report without success and perhaps you may know a way to get this done.
We want to send a report summarising the staff who has not completed their assigned training in time, or tests assigned more than 15 days ago. This report would be sent as an email to their managers on a weekly basis.
Do you have any ideas about this or something similar?

Great question. You’ll want to take a look at configuring Email Reminders for trainings. I’ll provide a link to some articles in our help guide, alongside a specific recommendation for your example.

For your example, you’ll want to use the Expedited notification to send an email reminder to a team member’s manager with a cadence of 15 days beyond the current due date.
If the team members need it completed within 5 days, then your expedited offset would be 20;
5 days to be considered late, 15 days after that to be considered expedited.
As a reminder, managers are set via groups. You can find more info here.

Thanks for your response and the links.
The solution you propose will work. However, for big teams it may result in a manager bombarded with individual emails (one per person not completing the training) which is something we try to avoid.
That’s why we thought of a weekly report which would summarise in one single email the current training/testing status of the whole team, and we could not find this kind of automation: running a predefined report that gets emailed automatically at time intervals.

+2Completely understand Pedro. We do have another automation available that I believe will meet your request. When you create a custom report, you’ll have the ability to save a snapshot of the report and email it out automatically.
You can then set a cadence like ‘every Monday morning at 8am send an .xls file to the management group’.
