Hi Everyone,
We’re working on refining our permissions in the document management module, and I’m looking for a bit of guidance on how to restrict document downloads. Here's the situation:
I’d like to set things up so that only the document owner can download their documents. For example, only the Environmental Manager should be able to download environmental documents — and not anyone else from the Environmental team or other departments.
Do you think there is way to set permissions this way?

There are a couple of options:
- If your files are all in Word format you can rollout the IQMP Word plugin. This would allow you to control permissions in the IQMP admin module. However this would also require IT work to roll out the tool.
- Depending on the file types you can force PDF conversion in the admin module. This will force files to be displayed in the PDF viewer built into the system and activities can be controlled.

We would like the:
-document owners to be able download and edit the original file (e.g., .docx, .xlsx).
-basic users only view the document within the Ideagen tool using the “Viewer tab” – no download or print access.
