Want to get involved but don’t know how to get started? Here’s a quick rundown of how things work. Let us know in the comments if you have any questions or suggestions, or head over to our Introduction thread or FAQs to find out more.

First, a few guidelines...

The Ideagen Community is a space for regulatory and compliance professionals of any and every background to connect with peers, access and share information of relevance to them in their role, and take advantage of the wealth of experience - spanning continents, eras, and industries - that exists within our Ideagen user and employee population.

This is a welcoming, supportive space for everyone, and to make sure we keep it that way, there are a few Community guidelines to keep things working well:

Introduce yourself

Most community users are employees of Ideagen’s customers. You can choose what to share about yourself by editing your profile. The more you share, the more chance you have of meeting like-minded people, so don’t be shy! Once your profile is ready, join us on our Introduction thread and say hello.

Get to know others in our network

Hop onto one of our discussion posts in a product forum to start interacting with people. You can usually find out who someone is from their profile; but there are a few other hints to look out for…

Ideagen employees are identifiable in two ways:

  1. They have a small Ideagen icon by their profile picture

  2. They have a special ‘rank’ which describes their role

Roles include:

  • Product Managers

  • User Experience (UX) team members

  • Support Engineers

  • Community Managers

  • Community Moderators

  • Other Ideagen employees

You could also say hi to one of our Customer Council Members. Anyone who’s a member of the Customer Council will be identified by a special rank that only they possess. Find out more about the Customer Council, who they are, and what they do.

Be generous

We are an inclusive “community of communities” representing millions of individuals around the world, all with varying experiences and expertise. We believe that we each have something to offer others in terms of learning, so be generous in sharing your knowledge experience, and open to learning from others.

Use appropriate caution when posting questions, answers and replies

When posting in the community forum - and particularly when asking questions about use of software products - please use caution if sharing specific details about your own configuration or setup.

  • Never share screenshots if they show potentially sensitive information (such as personally identifiable information, IP addresses, or configuration which might pose a security risk for your company.

  • If another user asks you to share specific information with them, and you aren’t confident that it’s safe to do so, check with an Ideagen representative

  • Similarly, when responding to questions from other users, please consider that the individual setup of software systems may differ, and what might be a solution for one issue might not work for all. When in doubt, please contact Support directly.

  • We’ve added notices throughout the community to remind you to take care and protect yourself and your company.

Our community principles

Our vision for the Ideagen Community is that it becomes a central hub for all our customers, users, partners and stakeholders, where they can:

  • foster and develop their effectiveness,

  • advance their purpose,

  • connect with others who share their goals and purpose,

  • share insight and opinion,

  • access support and education, and

  • inform themselves around our products.

In order to do this, we recognise and hold these principles to be true:

  • We already have active and engaged user and practitioner communities.

  • As our community grows, our ability to serve its members grows, too.

  • Ideagen is an active and engaged member of our community, but we aren’t in control.

These principles guide our decision making but - crucially - they rely on your participation to help the Ideagen Community vision come to life! So, one final important piece to read and then you can get started...

Our content moderation philosophy

Although Ideagen provide the platform for this community, it’s a space for you to explore and evolve as you see fit, rather than something we control.

We do, of course, have terms of use - which visitors and registered members are bound by - that are intended to protect everyone, and we use moderation tools to ensure that any breach of those terms is addressed in the right way. This might mean moving posts to make sure they’re in the right category, or amending/removing users’ posts if we find that any information is sensitive, subject to copyright, potentially confidential, or prone to misuse or abuse. In line with our values and with the purpose and ethos of the community, any use of intolerant, inflammatory, discriminatory, defamatory or offensive language will always result in a lifetime ban.

Flagging content

We use both moderation tools and humans to moderate content, but there’s always a risk that some posts will fall through the gaps.

If you come across a post that you find offensive, or looks like spam, you can flag it for a moderator to review (and remove, if necessary). To do this, navigate to the end of the post in question, and click on the three dots to find the ‘Flag’ option. When flagging content, it really helps our moderators if you can include a reason for your objection.
