Hi Andy!
Thanks for posting!
There’s 2 ways i’ve interpreted your question, let me know which applies!:
- We currently don’t have the versioning in the way you’re describing inside of InPhase, there isn’t currently a ‘share’ button to produce a link to a file that stays behind the InPhase security and keeps track of the active, but I have sent this to the team as it sounds super useful!
- On other side, my suggestion would be to use your document system to produce the document link to the version and insert the external URL into a field on a form or a trends table, wherever you need to use it, and then they’ll be able to access the versioned document in the document system.
Hopefully that helps! Improving functionality and integrations is top of the list though so it’s a great suggestion, thank you!
Aden
Hi Aden,
Option 1 is what we’re looking for - a link that will always point to the current active version
In Q-Pulse, every document has a single unique number e.g. QMS_001 and the active version is linked with...
http://qpulseserver/qpulsedocumentservice/documents.svc/documents/active/attachment?number=QMS_001
There are three registers - active, draft and obsolete (this holds all previous revisions) and you can search each register using the document number.
Cheers
Andy
